REVIEW: “A Scottish Lord for Christmas” by Lauren Smith

Lauren Smith adds a sweet and uncomplicated romance to her Sins and Scandals series with “A Scottish Lord for Christmas”.  This short seasonal romance novel begins concurrently to the previous book in the series but it is a stand-alone novel.  In the previous installment our heroine’s sister was caught in a fortune hunter’s trap.  A trap which was meant for our Heroine, Rowena.  Rowena’s sweet and romantic the opposite of her sister.  She wants to marry and have children.  At the infamous house party Rowena rescues the daughter of the handsome Scottish widower Lord Forres.  Quinn lost his childhood sweetheart, his wife, and mother of his child the previous year.  His toddler daughter’s the only meaning he has in his life.  However Rowena’s tender heart, pure spirit, and beauty moves him.  Unfortunately every time he feels something for her he feels guilty as though he’s betraying his dead wife’s memory.

“A Scottish Lord for Christmas” is a Sexy Sweet feel good Christmastime Historical Romance in the Downton Abbey timeframe.  The novel is delightfully quick to read with a lively pace.  Lauren Smith creates a Heroine who is sweet yet strong, intelligent, and sentimental.  Quinn, Lord Forres, the Hero is charming, wonderfully Alpha, loving, but vulnerable.  “A Scottish Lord for Christmas” is everything you could want in a Holiday Historical Romance:  sexy, sweet, touching, and fun.

I’m giving “A Scottish Lord for Christmas” 4 Lightning Bolts and a Gale Warning.
